Ciara Sexton started dancing at the age of three under the instruction of Marion Turley in the West Midlands.
Throughout the eighteen years of her competitive career, Ciara won numerous titles including five World & All Ireland Championship titles.
She then entered the professional world of Irish Dancing and toured with Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance, performing the lead role of Morrighan. In 2011 she appeared alongside Michael himself as the lead dancer in his return tour performing nightly to crowds of over 20,000 people all around the world. The show was filmed and released as a 3D movie in cinemas worldwide and the DVD topped the charts for several weeks.
Ciara choreographs regularly for hometown dance company, Celtic Feet. She has most recently toured with the troupe in the production of Excalibur – A Celtic Rock Opera as the lead dancer.
Leaving Lord of The Dance in 2012, Ciara became involved in the development of Riverdance’s new show – Heartbeat of Home. Following a successful workshop that she danced and choreographed for, she has been offered a leading role in the production premiering at the Board Gais Energy Theatre this September.
Following last year’s Take The Floor success, Ciara is delighted to once again be joining the 2013 choreography team and is looking forward to sharing her education and experience with the new cast of talented dancers!
