Taking The Floor To New Heights 2

Taking The Floor To New Heights

It is hard to believe we are in the month of May already! Almost 10 months since Take The Floor debuted in The Helix Theatre, Dublin in 2012 and 2 months until it returns bigger and better and with a tour of Ireland to boot!

It’s been a very busy time for both Shane and I. After a few weeks off at the end of last years show to catch up on some much needed sleep, we launched ourselves back into pre-production for Take The Floor 2013. The year always goes quickly when you’re busy and this year was no exception.

From last years’ success, it had to be satisfied that Take The Floor would span outside of it’s one and only performance from 2012 so we quickly got to work on finding what theatres would be a suitable home for us.

After much research we happily settled on 3 of Irelands most prestigious venues; The Concert Hall at the University of LimerickThe Millennium Forum, Derry and back to our original home at The Helix, Dublin.

The Helix was of course an obvious choice having started out there last year. The UCHL, Limerick has become the epicentre of developmental and performance dance and so seemed like a fitting home. Derry being the City of Culture this year and host to the Fleadh Cheoil was an obvious choice and we are now delighted to be one of the headline acts for Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann 2013!

We realize that if you’re lucky, once in a blue moon you’ll discover or create something you are so passionate about that you have to do everything you can to make it work. Take The Floor holds our hearts and souls and we cannot wait to see how it all unfolds with this years aspiring and talented cast.
